United States & Iran

This seminar attempts to better understand the current crisis between the United States and Iran by applying a historical lens, examining U.S.-Iranian relations from their inception (World War II) until the present. As always, will cover contemporary matters and end with a Q&A. Have added two sessions at the end (June 3 and 10) to address contemporary matters as they develop.

Session One (April 22): Origins to the 1953 Coup

Session Two (April 29): White Revolution & the Shah in Middle Eastern Diplomacy

Session Three (May 6): The Iranian Revolution & the United States

Session Four (May 13): The U.S., Iran, and the Proxy Networks

Session Five (May 20): Iran and American Politics

Session Six (May 27): The 2026 War

Sessions Seven and Eight (June 3, June 10): Popup Q&A sessions
