Historical Moments

Sometimes key historical developments occur quicly but not immediately. That’s what we all experienced this summer in the month-plus run-up to–and aftermath of–the Biden debate performance. That episode seemed like a good opportunity to explore events such as this–from both a domestic and an international lens–where a variety of important historical dveelopmenrs seemed to come together all at once.
As always, each seminar will conclude with comments on contemporary issues, and a question-and-answer session of open length.
Wednesdays at 10.30am.
Session One (October 2): The Fall of France
Session Two (October 16): Mississippi, summer 1964
Session Three (October 30): Israel, October 1973 (image above)
Session Four (November 13): Gorbachev and the Soviet Collapse
Session Five (December 4): The Biden Decision
Session Six (December 18): Hezbollah’s Fate
